Doctor in Composition
Vania Angelova obtained a Doctorate in Composition at the University of Montreal. She also graduated with a master’s degree in piano with the renowned professor Regina Horowitz, sister of the great Russian pianist Vladimir Horowitz. Vania has as well a master’s in Composition with prof. Igor Kovach, and also in Choir and Symphonic Conducting with prof. Alekseev, in ex-USSR.
Vania Angelova was rewarded with a Medal and an Honorary Certificate from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria for her contribution to the development of the Bulgarian and European cultures and their propagation in Europe and Canada, 2006.
In 2003 she was rewarded with a Honorary prize from the music faculty of the University of Montreal.

Member of SOCAN, Member of BV Artists International, New York.
She is an honorary member of the jury of the International Festivals of choirs and of the International Festival «Music and Cinema» in Europe, professor of composition, piano and singing in internationals master classes, winner of national and international competitions in Europe (1 prize for the music of the movie “Music and ecology of our souls”, 1999), etc.
Nominated from ABI (American Biographical Institute) for the edition of ” Great Women of the 21 Century”, 2004.
As a pianist and a composer: Concerts in Holland, Austria, Ukraine, Italy, Germany, Russia, Bulgaria and Canada; Radio and TV concerts; many records and video clips of her compositions.
She is Founder and Artistic Director of the “CMC Québec Choir – Vania Angelova”. Dr. Vania Angelova and the CMC Québec founded the Choir in 2013.
Dr.Vania Angelova’s composition repertoire includes a diversity of styles: music with the elements of old spiritual orthodox music, Suites of Ancient Pagan Dances for Symphonic and Chamber Orchestras with a specific rhythms of the Bulgarian national music of irregular divisions, 2 Oratorios, Symphonic Poem, works of ancient and modern Christian music for mixed and children’s Choirs (a capella and with orchestra) and contemporary music.
She has composed music for seven movies.
Vania Angelova’s compositions were interpreted by many Orchestras and Choirs in Europe and Canada: the National Academy Orchestra of Canada, Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukraine, Orchestra of National University of Art, Kharkov, Ukraine, Chapella National of Bulgaria, Chamber Orchestra “I Musici de Montreal,” “Sinfonia Toronto” Chamber Orchestra, “McGill Chamber Orchestra”, the Symphony Orchestra of the University of Montreal, the Choir of the University of Montreal, “Trio-con Brio,” Vania Angelova’s Quartet and Quintet, “Angel voices” Choir, “CMC Québec Choir – Vania Angelova, ”Ensemble Arkea”, “Georgian Bay Symphony Orchestra”, “Cosmic voices” Choir, Chamber Orchestra “Sofia Soloists”, etc.
Angelova’s composition “Pagan Dance on burning coals”, interpreted by “I Musici de Montréal,” conductor Yuli Turovsky, was chosen and noted among others as one of the best compositions of the year, 2008, CBC Radio Canada.
Angelova is the director of musical programming, author, and animator for RTVC – the first Russian television channel in Canada. She presents Russian medias in many international competitions and events.
Dr. Vania Angelova’s spiritual music was used to honor the funeral of the well known great Bulgarian fortune teller Vanga during the telefilm of the National TV Bulgaria (Centre Blagoevgrad).

In Europe: Founder and Conductor of Choir for ancient and new spiritual music “Angel voices”, Bulgaria.
Founder, Head Art Director and Conductor of children’s choir in Radio-TV Centre Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria.
In Canada she is the founder of the following courses in Choir in SAC at the University of Montreal: “Choir music of the Medieval and the Renaissance Singing”, “Music of the World” and “Gospel”. She is the Founder and Conductor of the Choir “Vania Angelova’s Angel Voices”, “Trio con brio”, “Quartet”, Montreal; Founder and Artistic Director of the first Bulgarian Choir in Canada “Voices of the Bulgarian children”, Montreal, “CMC Quebec Choir–Vania Angelova”, Montreal.
She gives plenty of volunteer concerts to collect funds for the Foundations for the research of missing children in Bulgaria and Canada, for the opening of the Bulgarian Church in Montreal, for medical treatments to children affected by cancer, as well as charity concerts in homes of the elderly, in orphanages and humanitarian organizations for handicapped people in Europe and Canada.
